Friday 5

I have to admit that I am much better at reading blogs than I am at writing them. This post takes inspiration from one of my favorites, Every Friday she posts about 5 of her favorite things. I enjoy reading those posts so much I decided to be a loser and totally copy her idea–sorry Lauren, please forgive me! So let’s get to it, here’s what’s been on my mind this week!

1) watershed
The lineup for watershed 2015 has been released and ohhhh man is it good! I’m undecided yet if I want to go this year because it will cost roughly one million dollars. But they say the best way to spend money is on experiences, right? If the past two years at watershed have taught me anything I know that it would be one hell of an experience.

2) housewife life
I made a super grown up purchase this week and bought a cookbook! I can’t really tell you much about it because I haven’t used it yet, but I like the way it’s written and it has pictures so that’s a win win if you ask me. If my next grown up purchase involves cooking utensils and groceries that aren’t microwaveable I will let you know if the recipes are good.

3) pre. made. (edible). cookie dough
*side note: I consider any and all forms of cookie dough to be edible, however this is specifically designed for “raw” consumption*
If this isn’t the coolest product to ever exist, I don’t know what is. the cookie dough cafe is a company that sells ready to eat cookie dough! It appears that they only sell it in store in Southern California, but they are sold online too! If you are a somewhat regular reader of this blog, you know how I feel about cookies (if you are not a regular ready, become one! Please:) and in the meantime check out this post I wrote earlier in the week about rainbow sugar cookies) so I plan on buying a four pack and eating it all in one sitting.

4) my doormen
I guess labeling this one as “doormen” is misleading, seeing as how they are both not not human, one isn’t even a man, and they both can definitely not open the door for me. But they never fail to greet me and pretend they are excited to see me and then try to escape to the outside world. But they are so cute they had to be included.

5) black& blue or white& gold?
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past 24 hours, chances are pretty good you’ve seen this incredibly annoying picture floating around. what freaking color is it?!?! I have no idea and it’s driving me crazy. I see blue and green so that’s not even one of the options. It’s making me question everything I thought I knew about everything.

Well folks, that’s all for today! I hope you’ve enjoyed this little snippet into my week, now I’m looking forward (not šŸ˜‘) to an incredibly busy weekend trying to frantically fill out an application for my school program that I thought was due months from now. Yay for being a failed adult!
What do you think about my Friday 5? Let me know in the comments! Especially if you want my address to send me cookie dough, or have any ideas on that dang dress situation so my eye will finally stop twitching.

Rainbow sugar cookies

Today I had a pile of laundry the size of Mt. Everest to be washed, two chapters of anatomy to be read (to be tested on tomorrow), two dogs begging for a walk, groceries to be bought, and a bathroom to be cleaned. Guess how much of that I got done? No really, take a guess.
If you guessed none of it you would be correct. Oops?

Instead I put on my Betty Crocker hat and spent 2 hours making RAINBOW SWIRL SUGAR COOKIES
Normally my baking skills are less than awesome. I’ve been known to use salt instead of sugar, double the butter but nothing else, you get the idea. But these were pretty dang good. Here is proof in the form of a text from the bf after I dropped some off at his work
He is obviously the one who does most all of the cooking around here.

Do you have any fun and easy recipes to share? Let me know in the comments!
