The First Date 2.0

Can you believe it has been almost a year (okay, 9 months but STILL) since we wrote our very first post, The First Date, on this blog? In some ways, it feels like it has been forever since that day, but in other ways it feels like just yesterday that Braden& I decided to “become bloggers”. At that point, we really had noo idea what we were doing. Just 2 baristas trying to get through days that started at 2:30am without killing anyone. When we started this blog we thought we would go by fake names. Why? I don’t remember. I think I have found all of the posts with those “alter-egos” if you will, but feel free to give me a shout out if you find an archived post that I missed.

In the past 9 months we have grown up (a bit), decided to use our real names, and have somehow found our way from behind the coffee stand to the real world of banking and marketing. We’ve also decided to get a little more serious about this here blog.

So that is how I find myself writing an ‘about me’ post, months into this blog. In my path to get Our Failed Adulthood to be successful (pause for laughter at the irony of that statement), I signed up for a Blogging U class, and the first assignment is to write a post about who I am and why I am here.

So, who am I? I am Lisa/Thing 1 of the Our Failed Adulthood team. I am a 22 year old stuck in the body/mind of a 90 year old lady. Seriously, read about it here. I like sunshine and cats, and am in school for Early Childhood Studies so that I can make a career of snack time and finger painting.
Thing 2/Braden is a 25 year old stuck in a 19 year old body. He is a “professional” wine taster who likes to buy cars and take cross-country road trips. Seriously, read about it here.
Together, we are just two best friends faking our way through adulthood, and taking you with us for the ride.

Looking back on what we’ve accomplished in the past 9 months, I’m happy. I have met some really nice people, and am looking forward to meeting and collaborating with more people and companies in the next 9.
I think that my main goal is to find a way to get more reader involvement. Sometimes, I feel as if I’m just talking to myself, which believe me, I do plenty of anyway. I guess now I just have to figure out the best way to get more people involved. By NO MEANS am I sitting here begging for comments. I know that involvement and interaction come with time. But I am asking for advice. As a reader, what do YOU want to see? What would make you want to say, “Hey, I’m smellin’ what you’re steppin’ in, and here’s what I have to say about it!”? Please let me know!
As much as this is a blog about us, it’s about you too. I know we aren’t the only 20somethings stumbling through the PNW with only a bottle of wine and the wind telling us where to go.
