I’m coming to you from my couch, wearing ugly fleece pants, yesterday’s sweater, and hair that hasn’t been washed in 5 days.
But you know what? I’m thankful to have a couch to sit on. I’m thankful for my ugly fleece pants that keep me oh so warm. I’m thankful for this soft sweater. I’m thankful for friends and family who still love me even when I can’t find the time to wash my hair.
I’m thankful that I’ve been so stinking busy with a job that I love and an amazing degree program at my dream school.
Blogging, sleeping (and obviously showering…) have taken a back seat lately. I miss all of it, especially blogging. But this is my life right now, and I am thankful.
Am I the only one who seriously struggles to come up with titles for blog posts? It’s the hardest part about writing a post for me, I swear! I think that’s why I like ‘day’ posts so much; Motivational Monday, Friday 5, and now the latest and greatest Boozeday Tuesday Tuesday Tunesday!
Last week a bunch of people my mom noticed the lack of Friday 5 and was actually really sad! So my apologies to everyone (mom) for that. But I’m back and with a shiny new cover photo! Everything is better with glitter, right?
Semi Successful Friend Bailey, here again just being a Semi Success. With a huge emphasis on the semi…
And not to brag or boast, but until about a month ago, I was killing it at being an adult, and I’m not lying here.
I was working hard in school, getting good grades, bustling at work, managing a decent balance between work and my social life, but the best part? I had the dream apartment.
Can you believe it has been almost a year (okay, 9 months but STILL) since we wrote our very first post, The First Date, on this blog? In some ways, it feels like it has been forever since that day, but in other ways it feels like just yesterday that Braden& I decided to “become bloggers”. At that point, we really had noo idea what we were doing. Just 2 baristas trying to get through days that started at 2:30am without killing anyone. When we started this blog we thought we would go by fake names. Why? I don’t remember. I think I have found all of the posts with those “alter-egos” if you will, but feel free to give me a shout out if you find an archived post that I missed.
You see your barista on a daily basis. There she is slinging the bean behind the bar with a smile on her face. She greets you by name as you walk up. She remembers you and your drink! Out of the hundreds of people she sees a day, it’s you she remember. As you stand by the hand-off plane, casually awaiting your Americano with 3.5 raw sugars and an inch of steamed breve, stirred well, she asks you how your day is going, what your plans for the weekend are, and if you would like a drink stopper or not. She laughs as you tell her about how you thought it was Friday but it’s really only Thursday. She thinks you’re so funny and clever as you tell her “thanks a latte!” As you’re walking out the door.
hi friends! I’m so happy to announce that SSFB has another guest post for y’all! I would like to say in advance that I welcome all kind comments in response to this post! Even if you do not agree, please be respectful. Hateful comments of any kind will not be approved. I know this is a controversial topic, and that’s why it needs to be talked about. I read a quote about gay marriage once that said something like:
